ABSTRACT


The research aims to increase the activity and biology student learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning model type make - a match. The subject of this research is a class XI student IPA2 SMA Negeri 1 Enrekang semester academic year 2010/2011. This research is a class action consisting of 2 cycles, and each cycle consists of 3 meetings. Data obtained by using 2 instruments, ie instruments for observation sheet learning activities, learning outcomes and evaluation instruments to learn siswa.data The collected results were analyzed by using quantitative analysis. The results showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model type make - a match can increase the activity and student learning outcomes. The increase was shown by research results from cycle I to cycle II, namely the average value of student learning outcomes increased from 67.31 to 73.44, while the increase in the percentage of students who pass from 61.11% to 86.11%. Student activity increased from 24.20% to 46.61%. Based on the research, concluded that cooperative learning model type make - a match can increase the activity and student learning outcomes. For researchers who want to conduct similar research, should further improve the provision of motivation to the students so that students become more active during the learning process in accordance with the objectives to be achieved in the study.
